My meditation teacher used to say, “Begin with the end in mind”. Sankalpa is the ancient Vedic term for this. It means start when the right intention is clear. Like the target for an arrow, there’s no point firing an arrow unless it’s directed at the right place! Otherwise you would be wasting energy and arrows!
It’s the same with actions in life when you’re desiring or wanting a specific result. Until the target or end result is clear in your mind, there’s absolutely no point taking any action, as long as you’re at least doing your best to figure out where you’d like to fire your life to.
But once the vision or end result is clearly identified… and you know it because when you think about it or see it with your mind’s eye it just feels so good and right to you, perhaps you also feel a surge of energy and excitement whenever you think about it. That’s the sign that you’ve identified the right spot where you’re aiming yourself and your life… then it’s time for action to get there!
